Independent Review of Hate Crime Legislation

The Right Hon Lord Bracadale (Alastair P. Campbell) attended SOPA AGM to speak about  the Hate Crime Legislation review. This independent review was announced on 26 January 2017 by Annabelle Ewing, Minister for Community Safety and Legal Affairs.  The review is chaired by Lord Bracadale, a senior member of the judiciary.

Please take the time to respond to his consultation exercise which is running until 23 November 2017. The consultation seeks views to inform the independent review of hate crime legislation in Scotland. It is considering whether changes need to be made to the current laws; whether existing offences should be extended to cover other groups; and whether all hate crimes should be brought into one area of legislation.
