Highland Council Nominates 3 Older People's Champions

Councillors Isabelle MacKenzie, Thomas MacLennan and Bill Boyd have been nominated as Older People Champions in Highland Council. Champions are individuals who are willing to work together and use their influence to promote the interests of their specific area. A core part of the role is to effect change which will see local lives improved.

An Older People’s Champion is a Councillor who acts as a link between the Council and older people in the local area. It also feeds into the Age Scotland and Scottish Older People’s Assembly (SOPA) agenda to see a network of Older People’s Champions from across Scotland, who will be a voice for older people at local and national level and who will work together on shared challenges and collectively influence change. At SOPA we are delighted to welcome the new Champions.
